First of all, I am Dutch, that\u2019s where the story starts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Born and bred in Holland, working in the music industry and then one day \u201cI fell in love with an Englishman\u201d. Well better said, a Geordie, but that\u2019s not how Ed Sheeran\u2019s song goes. After some flying back and forward, 6 months later we decided it was time to make a huge decision. I packed my bags and moved to the UK, The North East.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now I had never been to the UK before, I was not the person for a relationship and most of all I was not the person to leave friends and family behind to go and live abroad. What the hell had this guy done to make me do it all. The deal was 2 years and then we would decide the next step, now we are far passed the 2-year deadline, we are married, have a little boy plus two bonus kids, a dog and bought a house.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, there is no going back, this is it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, he can take this girl out of Holland, but no way you can the Dutch out of me. And that is exactly what we are going to do. We will bring Holland to the UK via The Dutchess, you get it Dutch.. Dutchess. Now do not think we are here to bring you clogs, cheese, tulips and weed (although the last one might not be a bad shout). But we will bring you the Dutch fashion, accessories, and lifestyle products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When I moved here in 2016 this idea started. I was used to concept stores in the high streets, small boutique like shops that offer different labels and not only clothes but also accessories, shoes, lifestyle and sometimes you can even get a coffee while you are there. That is what I miss over here.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, when COVID-19 stopped the world and my job in the music industry went from super hectic busy to a normal office job with a lot of spare time, I had time to think. So together with my mam we decided to do it together. My mam on the mainland for the export and in contact with all the labels, and myself over here in North Shields. We must have had a hundred Zoom Meetings, Phone Calls and Facetime Chats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But now here we are, chasing our dream. Our own shop, together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All the labels we are selling are coming from Holland, and most of them are not available anywhere else in the UK. Do you know a Dutch brand you would love to come to the UK, you can always contact us, and we can look into it for you?<\/span><\/p>\n

Because of the current situation we have chosen for the shop to be a web shop. But we want to be different and have the connection with our customers. So, we will offer (same day) click and collect and when the time is right, we will start organizing pop up stores, wardrobe sales and Ladies Night events.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
